Music Separates

Looking for advice & tips on building my own separates system. I’ve got the turntable, but I’m looking for a decent amp, speakers and CD player. Preferably I’d like to play streamed music too but that’s not essential as the system is mainly for vinyl and CD. Like everyone I’m looking for decent quality, but I don’t want to spend a fortune. Any suggestions?

Spend money on speakers. Buy the cheapest CD player you can find. Then buy the cheapest amp that matches the spec of your speakers.

Don’t spend money on fancy cables. Twin core mains flex for speakers, whatever comes with the kit for interconnects.
