More railways.. (model railway)

As much a part of modelling is un modelling! Not done any of thus since all my stock was nicked years ago.. Finally dismantling the layout. A picture tells the story better though

Nothing lasts forever. I could easily build a small layout with the stuff i do have... Or a garden layout. Ssssh!!!

So much wiring!

I have got an urge to build a model railway. I have got as far as researching a now closed line and station with an idea of building it as though it didnt close when it did... But was just before the time Beeching would have got it anyway if even later, not sure. It had closed before Beeching. The station is Sandgate. Its on disused stations if you want to look. Ive worked out the track plan and think i have enough space.

So the question is: should I? I have had 3 cans of beer :)

I really miss the EPB's - to me a blow in from Wales , they summed up South of the River , but then in the 1960's when the 1920's stock on the subway went to meet their maker , the older residents of Brooklyn said that the area was not the same without the old cars.....

I've got a real soft spot for slam door EMUs being pretty much the only train i ever caught as a kid. I have already made a 4cep in the same kit. Took 100s of hours

4-CEPs were a bit foreign for me. Most of my early train riding happened on 4-SUBs. But I've always liked that Tyneside EPB look, with the flat fronts and the slight frown of the roof overhang.

I've ordered the wheels and motor for the 2EPB. Have been restocking on micro drills, ordered a book on the Hythe and Sandgate Railway. I've got shit loads of plasticard, the book I believe has scale drawings so i just need to get some nasty adhesives!

I've powered up and tested my controller with the only DCC stock i have, the rear coach of a 4cep i built. All works perfectly

I appear to be making a model railway, will keep ya posted if you're interested?

Hey can you upload your images here rather than linking as none of them are showing :(

Update: oops, I was looking at the older posts.

Are you going to model it as if it had survived closure? At a later date you can extend the scope of the layout northwards to include Dollands Moor yard and the tunnel entrance

certainly modelling it as though survived yes, late 60s, early 70s. There are so many bits of the railway round this area that would be good to model. Folkestone Junction and harbour arm branch. Dover marine would be awesome. There is a layout of Dover priory and the white cliffs on RMWeb, wont cross link to another forum, easy enough to google

I've been pottering around in my garage. Its not much and its not much to look at but its a little bit of progress. I have cleared it to run the layout all the way round the garage again:cool:PSX_20170930_181422.jpg

Should have a train running all the way round later. Just waiting for paint to dry. Found some wood in my loft perfect for the last bits of trackbed :cool:PSX_20171001_142411.jpg
