Doesn't if take longer if you all have to sit around for ages waiting to be moved before you can start reading? :)

About 15 minutes each session. Then we all discuss the bits we found particularly distasteful and then go on to relate what we've read to our personal hobby horses: Liberation Theology; prisons; the Twelve Steps; Nineteenth Century Novels; the oddness of Evangelicals; biscuits; the hole in the Meeting House Roof; teaching; working with refugees; Robert Alter; the horror of Quaker committees and the relative merits of the different the different Bible translations we use.

I would imagine a long running Capital book group would be much the same
 
I had to read it as a history student (was quite happy to do so). Still have a copy somewhere.
