it's deadpan. The models have the very definition of a po face.

I think people are (deliberately?) misunderstanding the role of some of the more exaggerated pieces.
I'm not sure about trangressive, just ugly. That's a 100% brilliant look. Highly sexy. Honestly, if cropped trousers are too transgressive for you, I'm genuinely saddened.
You say tomatoit's deadpan.
but the overall presentation is humorous and playfulThe models have the very definition of a po face.
Well they're not taking the piss out of the clothes, but the images are funn. That grey boiler suit and heels in the park - that's done with a sense of fun.The models have the very definition of a po face.
And that's why it's funny. Durh.but the overall presentation is humorous and playful
It's done with a sense of fun... but I'm not allowed to find it fun?Well they're not taking the piss out of the clothes, but the images are funn. That grey boiler suit and heels in the park - that's done with a sense of fun.
you think it would work better if they looked zany and mugged like Jim Carrey? And that's why it's funny. Durh.
This is really not very odd. Baggy trousers and an oversized jumper. Very studenty in a nineties revival way.You say tomato
I say po.
i think with catwalk shows designers go over the top to make a "statement" and create a feel, and then the designs get slightly pared down for the ready-to-wear market. Why?
look at that jumper man. just look at it. it's totally fucking ridiculous, I agree. but it's supposed to be ridiculous. You're laughing with them, not at them. You say tomato
I say po.
Ok.This is really not very odd. Baggy trousers and an oversized jumper. Very studenty in a nineties revival way.
There's a difference between mockery and wit. It's done with a sense of fun... but I'm not allowed to find it fun?
I'm just laughing. I never said anything about with or at.look at that jumper man. just look at it. it's totally fucking ridiculous, I agree. but it's supposed to be ridiculous. You're laughing with them, not at them.
There's also a difference between my arse and my elbow. What of it?There's a difference between mockery and wit.
No.you think it would work better if they looked zany and mugged like Jim Carrey?
Is that fashion? It looks like something done for a journalistic piece...Can anyone explain this one?

I don't know. Because it's more enjoyable for them to pretend that those pieces are being suggested for the high street? It makes the joke work better? Why deliberately?
Is that fashion? It looks like something done for a journalistic piece...
Well yes, and some of those statement pieces make others laugh. The one I quoted for example...it was the long shirt sleeves that tickled me. Their annoying impracticalness made me laugh. Also the puffer jacket I posted. I just imagine trying to get through doorways on that or on the train.i think with catwalk shows designers go over the top to make a "statement" and create a feel, and then the designs get slightly pared down for the ready-to-wear market.
