Música de Brasília

why thank you senhora

Entao, voce fala portugues? E muito estranho achar em Inglaterra alguém que fala mais do que sua própria língua...

I'm showing off :) I did it at university a million years ago and, in a minute, some polyglot boffin will arrive to correct my archaisms...

Just so you know...I am sorting through the ridiculous amount of books I have (now on the last four boxes from the shed) so I am working my way through the links posted. Perfect for the task

I'll join in later once I've convinced myself that I can't keep all of these books and fill at least one box for the free library and front wall Free shop.

Theres a great UK label for all things Brazillian called Far Out Recordings, which includes music by a great UK singer Heidi Vogel, who did a lot of broken beat stuff in the early 2000s and has recently been doing a fair bit of Brazillian material

If you get the chance i recommend seeing her live as she's a real force of nature, and when she gets unhinged and goes into scats and the like she's hard to beat.

Da Lata are a Uk act (Christian Franck and DJ Patrick Forge) but great - this album Songs From The Tin was a big fav

I think portuguese is the prettiest sung language

deserves another
