Live! Falcon Heavy, world's most powerful rocket, maiden flight

So, will Elon end up like Howard Hughes?
Collecting his piss and dead flies in his private floor at the Inn on the Park?
For his ake I hope not
BUT
I am as depressed by the notion of "Engineer Star", as the phrase, "Rock Star"
Both seem to imply demented, self indulgent ego tossbag
Get those bottles lined up, EEEEElong
It'll happen , you utterly mad cunt.....

Tesla plus FH upper stage (they are still connected) spotted this morning leaving the Earth-Moon system at a distance of some 520000km, at around magnitude +16 (small white dot at centre moving from bottom left towards top right):

Does Musk do engineering or does he just have lots of money with which to pay very good engineers?

<inaccurate haiku follows>

Hipipol.

You talk a whole string of shite.

But not this time.

The latter

Being fair, I think both.

I work for the kind of cunts who could barely lace the shoes of their underlings and they get a fuck of a lot less done.

Bullshit flows upwards and without a break in that chain nothing special ever happens.

was excepted at Stamford for a Applied Physics PhD, left before he started, pretty much, but not the usual MBA bullshit

Wow I think that is fantastic shot! Can you give more details where and how it was taken or where can I look it up please? Or have I just mistaken some computer generated GIF for real live footage?

I love the way no one is commenting on the three large, black Imperial ships heading towards the left of the shot.

Captured by the Elecnor Deimos Space Surveillance and Tracking Centre’s Tracker2 40cm telescope located in central southern Spain (Niefla mountains, Ciudad Real). The centre surveys and catalogues orbital debris and near-Earth objects. More details here.

Saturation bleed from stars overloading the sensor.

Here’s another shot taken by the virtualtelescope project (41cm robotic telescope in southern Arizona) a few hours later:

Intriguingly there would appear to be much fainter objects leading and trailing it (one ahead, one behind). It’s not clear if they are imaging/processing artefacts though.

Thanks for the link 2hats

ETA: are those fast moving lines planes or shooting stars?

Faint Earth orbiting satellites (obviously closer to Earth so greater apparent angular velocity). I’ve noticed some interesting lone flashes elsewhere in frame now I’ve studied it. Suggests some artefacts creeping in either due to some feature of the sensor or from image post processing, but those fast moving ‘lines’ are almost certainly closer HEO/LEO sats. Aircraft lights would most likely wash the image out.
