Live! Falcon Heavy, world's most powerful rocket, maiden flight

Fantastically clear skies for this. Landing is going to be just as amazing as last time

Don't forget, 90% of the rocket we just saw launch will fly again in 3 months or so. Bonkers.

So what happens to the craft that the satellite was released from?
The second stage gets deorbited and burns up. They were going to work on making it reusable but decided to concentrate on Starship instead.

Although they have figured out how to recover the fairing, which saves another $5m or so.

I sometimes wonder what 1960s NASA employees would have made of the Falcon Heavy and its real-time coverage of launch/re-landing.

Here's a slightly different view of the launch. Don't miss the boosters landing either!

That wasn't live, but a replay of the Arabsat launch. There are several YouTube channels rebroadcasting the SpaceX streams .

The next actual FH is scheduled for 22 June
