Lifeboat Inn, Margate, Kent - recommended!

We went for a drink here a few weeks back and loved the place. Fantastic ales, great ciders and a comfy, idiosyncratic bar with an equally idiosyncratic - but very friendly - landlord.

Thoroughly recommended.

The increase of brewpubs and pubs selling local ale/cider in east Kent is really heartening. I'm looking forward to another trip to the Lifeboat when I go to the Planet Thanet beer festival in April

Fantastic, thanks, am planning to be in the general Thanet area for the long weekend over Easter so will definitely pay a visit. I don't get back to Kent that often (but am planning to move there in the next few years) and it's always nice to hear about new pubs

The Chapel is nice enough though don't bother with the coffees.

There's a big folk music scene in that whole area, really good to see all ages up dancing.
