Lee Scratch Perry RIP

Sad news. He posted on Instagram the day before he died discussing plans for the future.

Saw him at Brixton Academy about 5 years ago. He did a great set, was followed by the Mad Professor and then joined him for another set. Very impressive for an 80 year old.

It's hard to imagine what reggae and dub would have been like without him.

Here he is with some cows.

Aw shit. A legend in every sense of the word. He's always been there for me, both in that I first heard his music 30 years ago and there's never been a period where I haven't listened to it since; and because whenever I've wanted more there's been more to find, from his 70s classics to his stuff with On-U.

Still, he lived a life and people will be listening to his work for generations to come.

Love this one:

RIP

This is getting me through the evening, ska invita - thanks -
Incredible set of mixes, the Rainford Rules set.
I actually had a guy knock my door years ago asking me what I was playing, I had the front window open and a RR mix on which sounded/sounds incredible.

Cheers ska invita

He always had a thing about cows.

1973.

tbh I'm not surprised Rastafarians are anti vax when it comes to covid. Would be inconsistent if they wouldn't be.
Inconsistent with what in particular?
I think it's mainly weed smoking silliness... Jungle dnb world has a lot of it too
