*Latest transfer gossip...

That’s a calculated risk , however it’s partially mitigated in some of the newer signings on relatively low salaries which gives room to reward those whose value increases. It’s a squad in rapid transition and there will inevitably be players sold in the close season .
Well yeh but anyone who gets better will want a bigger salary in a hurry so it saves nothing. Whereas every player that does not and has a higher than deserved salary will coast. I have seen it happen at United for years on much shorter contracts. Phil Jones is constantly forgotten and on way too much.

Very difficult to compare us in any way with how Man Utd at drum to be honest

Well yeh Chelsea are doing awfully and spent way more.
sorry I just saw my typo -should have read 'are run' not at drum.

The two clubs have very different operating models, in fact, part of the conditions for any bids for the club when it had to be sold was not to replicate the Glazier type model for owners taking money out.

Sterling going to Arsenal?

What the hell are Arsenal doing? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to bury Chelsea under the weight of a 40+ player squad and a 40+ player wage bill. All everyone has to do is not do them the favour of buying their surplus.

They'd have a squad in disarray, and 12 months down the line would have to sell (their better players, not just the excess) to meet financial targets or else face an existential crisis. Maybe then Boehly would have to look in a mirror and realise what a massive cunt he is.

Obsessed

I'll never understand players going to Saudi...Toney....what is he thinking

Money. Sets up his family for generations.
Pure greed. He could have set his family up for life by playing in the premiership for next season or two.
He might have a few gambling debts. Playing in Saudi will free him up to bet on English games again.
Average premiership wage just £4,186,052 PA. I don't know if this is the average basic or includes bonuses etc.
I imagine there are many extra's on top, like sponsorship, image rights, merch Etc.

suggests hes too old at 29
not sure about that
and had a 60 mill tag on him when Spurs were looking

Staggering to think there are people making "just" 40-50k a week worrying about securing their family's future. Mate, you're being advised wrong
