There's a Guardian article, iirc, that says the original film excited incels and that the sequel turns that on its head. This one alienates angry males, and that's another reason it's flopped?

I can see that interpretation. They did seem to do their best to avoid any fan service. One example was when there was a huge explosion. You expect lots of action after that point, but it just doesn't happen.
