But I was spiky to him online, and he PM'd me mildly offended with the "I'm not who you think I am" line, and I believed him. Ah well, we live and learn...

Seconded. I tried listening to The Smiths once (forget what - The Queen Is Dead, I think), and just thought here's someone who thinks he's far more urbane, erudite and witty than he actually is. I honestly don't understand how Marr put up with the cunt for as long as he did, to be honest. If I hear of anyone who goes to one of his gigs now, and they claim that they're "going because I like his music, it doesn't mean I endorse his politics", I just think "bull-fucking-shit - you're giving your money to a man who makes no secret of the fact that he's a white supremacist, that's an endorsement, whether you think it is or not".

As for Lydon, I was both a SP and a Public Image fan, not listened to either since that video emerged of him pulling a Nazi salute. He lives in LA now, though, so fuck him.
