Is America burning? (Black Lives Matter protests, civil unrest and riots 2020)

An inherently violent and oppressive system, rife with racism and run by a series of increasingly brutal administrations, lacking any empathy and lashing out at the people...

How else do you fight back?

It doesn't really justify breaking form with the UN , shooting a load of people in the head and running them down in cars TBH . That video I mean.
That was just one incident caught on video. Others have been reported by local media. I'm not aware of anyone being run down by vehicles in Portland. Bottom line is the violence needs to stop.

Is this method of fighting back working? Who is benefiting? I think it's the Trump administration that is benefiting. Peaceful demonstrations are the most effective IMO.

Millions of people peacefully demonstrated against the invasion of Iraq in 2003. Iraq still suffers to this day. There's a tribute to the effectiveness of both peaceful protest as well as liberal interventionism.

Like the moms who were teargassed?

Like black NFL players who were called SOBs for kneeling?

Peaceful protest is a great idea.

In reality, it's not going to stop these bastards in charge. People have to defend themselves.

I think the violence needs to be seen in light of it's known consequences, a violent protester once Identified and located will likely face severe harm from the system whereas a violent police officer will likely recieve full support from the same system.
It's this whole imbalance and inequality in modern society that is behind civil unrest.

The system has become endemicly corrupt, self serving and vicious

Not above disposing/killing/assinating their own members who don't tow the line

Trump is very definitely making things worse and is probably enjoying himself. I really don't see the protesters backing down any time soon. Good luck to them.
