Is America burning? (Black Lives Matter protests, civil unrest and riots 2020)

Reports confused at the moment regarding shooting incident in Seattle at the CHAZ/CHOP last night, but at least one report from a local saying that two men opened fire from a stolen car on protesters and protest defenders returned fire, killing one and hospitalising the second. This comes after weeks of the far right urging this sort of attack on the ongoing protest/occupation, with Trump chuntering in the background about sending troops in. It also comes after the usual suspects online crowing all week about the removal of some of the barriers/barricades that had been set up specifically to make this sort of attack more difficult.

Have any protesters been injured, or just the shooters?

Couple stand guard outside their house - both armed as protesters pass by!

Looks like a well heeled neighbourhood judging by their house/mansion.

It's like lesson #2 in gun school (lesson #1 is "treat every gun as if it was loaded")

Yeah, there's a reason behind the low numbered lessons leading onto higher numbers.

Though I don't think that pair had got as far as #1 tbf.

Where did you get that from?

Search 'the only valid reason for pointing a gun at someone' and you get a variety of responses, from it's illegal to point a gun at someone to 'what do you do if someone points a gun at you - kill them'.

Seems fucking silly to me - if someone pointed a gun at me I'd assume they were going to fire it. If nothing else, there's a danger of it going off 'accidentally'.

Yes, assuming they are loaded, and even then there's #1 as Crispy says.
I didn't say it wasn't silly but depending on State and context it might not necessarily be illegal in the US.

Now it's online I expect they're in for a chat with the cops, albeit of a more friendly nature than a poor non-white couple might expect.

looks like they never had gun safety lessons, those guns should be pointed at the ground

or preferably their own heads

Looks crazy tbh, people pointing a handgun and a machine gun/assault rifle (?) around.

Guess the pro-gun people will laud that situation as a win.

But, If you read the media, America looks like it’s a powder keg at the moment.

Do you not think you should be more careful about putting your boss down, seeing as you have posted lots of pictures of yourself here?

I know what you mean but he’s not my boss.

My ‘boss’ is my driver agency manager but even then under the gig economy farce I’m classed as self employed.
