Is America burning? (Black Lives Matter protests, civil unrest and riots 2020)

I suppose this post is on topic as it’s a good example of white fragility
Does this add anything to the discussion or do you feel it's legit to spend time pointing out someone who is not quite saying all the right things in the right way? This obsession with wrong think and calling out on the left drains energy and momentum - who on earth would want to be involved in a movement obsessed with ideological purity over actually getting shit done.

It's not about ideological purity.

White fragility is one of the barriers to getting shit done and it's a huge drain on energy to have to tiptoe around it all the time.

...Have those boogaloo fuckstics been declared a terror organisation yet? Because if any group can lay claim to that moniker it's a pro-civil war accelerationist outfit.

you'd imagine.

Ive read on Twitter theres been a spate of black americans found hanging from trees in the last week - 3 cases? 5? Does anyone have some reliable information about this? The twitter comments had no links

Hmm, when even "Popular Mechanics" is taking the piss, you've got a problem.

Thermite, eh?
And here’s a fun bonus: The liquid nitrogen will quickly turn to a gas and come shooting out of that hole you drilled, says Harrison, which will almost certainly cause a high-pitched squeal. “One could imagine it sounding something like the sound a confederate general would make if their feet were on fire.”

:D

Sounds like deaths in Ferguson after the protests there. Bodies of black militants were found in burnt out cars Deaths of six men tied to Ferguson protests alarm activists
amongst the deaths mentioned in that article there's another lynching-style death reported:
— In October, 24-year-old Danye Jones was found hanging from a tree in the yard of his north St. Louis County home. His mother, Melissa McKinnies, was active in Ferguson and posted on Facebook after her son’s death, “They lynched my baby.” But the death was ruled a suicide.

seems like a logical explanation:
“These protesters and their deaths may not be a high priority for (police) since there is this antagonistic relationship,” Washington University sociologist Odis Johnson said.

Im genuinely shocked that there are still lynchings going on.

Its going to be a bloody weekend in Tulsa. :(

let's very much hope not.
but if it is, trump and the trumpers will make it a chest-thumping opportunity.
my fear is that they'll "find" some "enemies" to make it happen.
the difference this time (as opposed to 2016) is that people are ready and they'll be filmed and exposed pronto. the bullshit he's been pushing this week seems, to me at least, not to be having the desired effect, b/c it's being countered immediately.

Sorry to respond late to this, just seen.

But the 'white fragility' thing came from OU's irrelevant sneer at me for my continuing the off-topic stuff about conspiracy theories.

A derail which I'd apologised for  , but had precisely zero to do with me being either white or fragile.
It was misuse of the phrase on his part to misdirect it for the sake of a crap, personalised and inaccurate dig.

(Again, apologies for continuing a derail a tad, but FFS!)
