Is America burning? (Black Lives Matter protests, civil unrest and riots 2020)

What’s the legal position on intervening in an assault by police? If you try to stop your mate being killed by a cop by smashing a fence post over their head, I’d imagine you’d be imprisoned for a long time. Americans have the constitutionally protected right to defend themselves from government tyranny with big fuck off guns, so whacking a cop with a big stick should be fine
Obstruction of an officer in performance of his racism. The DA would nail your ass to the wall.

Bad Elk v. United States - Wikipedia was a ruling in 1900 that said you could resist an unlawful arrest, but I don't think it could apply to intervening in someone else's unlawful arrest. Also the right to resist an unlawful arrest has been eroded by legislation over the last century and according to the article only 13 states still allow it. Realistically, though, even if you're resisting your own arrest in a state where it's technically legal, good luck winning the court case against a cop. If you're defending someone else against a cop running shoes are going to help you a lot more than laws, I'd say.

tbh rather fussing about the legal position, you should be concentrating on the matter at hand, retrieving your mate and departing at some speed. The legal position only comes into play if you're nicked and charged.

Cant leave the bricks alone. . The internet of brick conspiracies is a deeply strange place probably deserving of a tangent thread.
This video is pretty good though, especially as it looks like it comes from a Trumper.
Whats the least silly story to match whatever is going on here ?

Was about to post this, saw it this morning. Possibly MRE's but honestly just a couple of cops passing each other bricks one by one out of the back of the pickup.

Everyones doing it.
