Seems to me, from how this is being spun by the cops, that she'll get away with it. I think I'm right in saying it should be a manslaughter charge, but police are treated differently by the law. No doubt there will be a large cash settlement paid out to the family some time in the future. But I don't expect the officer responsible to be found guilty. I hope I'm wrong.

Very difficult as few crimes ever get before a jury in the US. Those that do are usually high profile. Decisions are made by prosecutors and defense attorneys.
