It's the day after Thanksgiving isn't it? Not sure why that would tie into a huge number of gun checks though - one of the few days off Americans have giving people the opportunity to go get their guns licence? Nice new gun as a Thanksgiving gift?

The day after Thanksgiving is usually a heavy day of Christmas shopping. Guns are popular gifts in some households. I don't think it indicates a coming civil war, just the usual greed for more, more, more.

Henry “Enrique” Tarrio, 36, was arrested by Metropolitan Police Department officers after he arrived in Washington ahead of protests planned by supporters of President Donald Trump to coincide with the congressional vote expected Wednesday to affirm Joe Biden’s election victory.

Tarrio was taken into custody after a warrant was issued for his arrest for destruction of property, police said.

He was also facing a weapons charges after officers found him with two high-capacity firearm magazines when he was arrested, a police spokesman said.
