Chip shops have only one variety of curry sauce. called curry sauce. This is in spite of/ because of Bedford having far more Indian restaurants than almost any town of its size.

I'm surprised because I've been past that place many times and had never clocked it was Irish. Also had no idea 'Irish curry sauce' was even a thing until this very thread. I'm surprised and confused all round tbh.

Hadn't come across it before in Bristol until going to Fintans Fish and Chip Shop in Llanishen, Cardiff last year, where they had the choice of all three.

That was part of the discussion - there is a chippy round here that makes their own with Guinness in it, but it's not the norm

A few places in Vancouver do it (Irish pubs). Problem is you can’t get decent chippy chips here because they don’t have the big fryers that UK/Irish chippers have.
