I will fully concede that now TV Burp has finished I watch nothing on ITV's main channel, and I never deign to look at the schedules of ITVs 2 and 3, but ITV4 is turning itself into quite a decent little outpost, at least in terms of sport.
They've been showing highlights of the Tour de France for a few years now, but have upped their game in the last couple of years with live coverage too, and have followed it with Vuelta and Tour of Britain highlights. I've also got into their Premiership rugby highlights package, and for the new season an hour of Bundesliga highlights. They also give quite extensive coverage to the Europa League (UEFA Cup), which is a refreshing change from the torrent of hype regarding the Champions League, and you get to see European teams from outside the blockbusters.
Obviously they could improve, getting some live coverage of the Bundesliga or other foreign leagues, a bit of live club rugby, and show some of the one day classics and the Giro, but supposing they're operating on a reasonably small budget, I think they're doing really quite well.
Just something I've noticed over the last few months.
