I need a tent but I detest camping - what shall I get?

The other camping thread reminded me that I was going to a festival next month and I have no provision for camping. There are b&bs nearby, but I don't think they would approve of a swivel-eyed loon turning up to pass out from late morning to early afternoon. I have yet to investigate the taxi/travelodge option, but am beginning to realise that it would be more practical just to give in and get a tent.
I need one that is dark inside in the sunlight, doesn't get hot when it's sunny and one I can get up in. Does such a tent exist?

Oh, it also has to be assemblable by pressing a button or something equally simple. I can't be messing around with poles and things.

Argos do a kit but I have no idea how good it is, nor have I ever used a single skin tent. If you are getting a tent this may well be good enough for one festie but I would get it and put it up and spray it with Fabrisil before you go just to make sure it's waterproof! (but I live in Scotland so making sure a thing is waterproof is a given ;) )

Personally I'd go for summat like this but I like space :)

Can't you just borrow a tent from someone?? Plenty of urbs DO camp :)

I often used to camp in these when I was younger, they are great if you don't like tents - cheaper too.
I have bivvied on a moor when I was younger. If the weather was good and there were no dogs about and i was going to be sleeping only at night, it wouldn't be a bad option, actually.

Go to Blacks imo. I bought a decent, well made 3 man tent from them for 40 quid, it's a piece of piss to put up - all the parts are colour coded so you can't go wrong.

Just checked, it's an Islay 3 man tunnel tent.

Wow they are cheap! Might as well buy one then.
Think i can afford to spend two or three times those prices.
If I do will they be worth it, or only slightly better?

No one. If I have to camp, I'm not sharing my space with anyone.
But I don't want a one man tent as they are horrible

I have a feeling it may have been on sale, so RRP for that sort of thing would generally be more. Budget for 100 quid, you'll get something nice. There's a Blacks in the West End, they have a few tents fully set up in the shop too.

If I was you the Decathlon one would be my choice.

It's not for my needs, but would meet yours well I think.
