Once the main irritation with local news sites was that they were so full of pop-ups, adverts etc that they would often cause your computer to freeze. Now I've noticed some of them are posting out national and international news, presumably in a desperate attempt to get more clicks. For example if I do a Google search on Barking I get all the non-local news that the Barking and Dagenham Post has decided to put out whereas before I'd only have to filter through a few extra stories about barking dogs that came up. Is there a way of bypassing this type of thing?
