how good is that snipping tool!!

What makes you so sure? I went multiple-monitor a few months ago, and I don't think I could ever go back to just one. More screen real estate = a lot less alt-tabbing.
Cos I don’t have a job that requires it. I could only handle one anyway. I have to turn off all messaging apps so people can only contact me by email at work, cos I can only handle one means of communication, so two monitors would be way too much

I'm not sure what messaging apps have to do with it. I hardly use any messaging apps outside of work. I still use four monitors.

I can understand that. But you asked why there was more then one way.

It’s to do with distractions. I prefer to concentrate one one thing at a time and extra monitors and messages pinging all over the place would make it impossible to do anything

I've got 5 now and its great. I can set up in the morning and I've got everything. Texts on the vertical then one for Teams, one for emails, one for calendar or Google Keep, one for data analysis and / or browser and one for VCs / VOIP. It means i don't have to shift stuff around and I can be constantly connected without even touching my phone or leaving my desk.

Eta: oh and my tablet on the shelf above for Spotify and the news.

How are you connecting five? I've used up all the display outputs on my GPU. I think I could connect another two with the HDMI and DisplayPort on my motherboard (there's a setting which I believe I've switched on) which are currently unused, but I haven't gone so far as to actually try to plug in a monitor yet. If I wanted any more than that I would have to install another GPU.

My current setup is a bit of a bodge, but it works nicely enough. The bottom central monitor is connected to both my personal machine and the work laptop via a switch, and the flanking monitors are connected to both devices via separate inputs. The bottom three monitors are also connected to my work laptop, with a typical use case being two of the monitors looking at two different subdivisions of the database I typically work on, and the third having the manufacturer documents on display for entry reference. The top middle one is left free for non-work stuff like Youtube videos, podcasts, music and posting on Urban. When not working I can have a podcast/music/listenable video going on in the left flank, OpenHardwareMonitor keeping an eye on my system in the top middle, and a video game in the bottom middle, which I might occasionally pause or leave running to do internet browsing in the right flank.
