The one I use is the one you get via windows key-shift-s. Just so simple. Had to report an error message the other day and actually got an email back thanking me for the screengrabs because nobody ever uses them

but taht's justs a screen shot. with the snipping tool you draw otu teh square for what you want. and that's it.

You draw out the square with this too though, it's not just print screen.

Sure I read they were talking about force upgrading it to a more bells and whistles version (on Windows this is) that sounded less useful but nothing seems to have come of it, thank God.

I only discovered it when I saw someone complain it was going to change/disappear and thought 'snip what what?'. Have used it daily since.

i've been using the snipping tool for years now, it's so handy in so many ways - apart from snipping images to stick up here i use it to grab the images of auld newspaper articles for historical research

If you need to edit stuff then maybe more is needed. But you can resize, and that's all I ever have to do really.

Not really. Obviously you can do the same things but with hard to remember keyboard shortcuts.

The Windows clipboard has got better over the last few years with the addition of the clipboard history (Windows-V in case you haven't seen it).
I was using Ditto previously but the Windows one is almost as good.

Well yeah, drawing is a bit of a stretch to describe my skills at art with the mouse, but I guess it would technically be possible to draw if I were better at it

just tested it out. i now prefer it to the snipping tool.
