How do you get hold of copies of exam certificates?

I am looking at various courses' entry requirements and a few say that proof of exam certificates is required, usually at interview stages. Original copies are required. How do you get hold of these? Anyone know?

My employer got a copy of my degree certificate from my uni, I just had to sign a release form. I expect it will be the same simple processes with schools, I imagine it happens all the time. If you can't remember which exam board it was my first port of call would be your school or the local education authority.

first stop the exam board, second stop the school/college. i couldn't get hold of my gcse certificates for my degree course cos the exam board no longer exists and the school didn't reply to my mails/phone messages but because i was a mature candidate they have less strict rules and i just had to okay it with the registry at uni. (i did have my a-level & previous degree certificates though)

I did look into this once - you can call the college/school you attended and get them to send a copy - I was quoted £50 for my degree certificate - so I didn't bother - never had to show them to anyone since about 1994 (which was the last time I probably had them)

You don't keep any P45s as you pass those on to your next employer. P60 - oops, should have kept those.

i was asked for gcse/a level certificates (which i don't have any more) by my employer, and couldn't afford to order certified statements etc from AQA.
they were fine with a letter from my old school confirming my grades (cost = £0)

have a word with the people asking for the certs, and they might do the same?

I haven't a clue where any of mine are either, never been asked for them even in jobs where it was a requirement.

You need them for most teaching, nursing and social work courses these days, mature student or not.
