I just find myself really tired of a system that consistently says that it's YOU THE VOTER who is responsible for the actions of a government, yet doesn't even pretend that you have any effective influence via the vote. Just it's your fault if bad things happen. It's so much like the deliberate bullshit around climate change, all massively concentrating on carbon footprints as if that had any relevance at all.

Yep, just another version of privatise the profit and socialise the loss...take credit for any confected 'success' and democratise the multiple failures, usually in the name of 'fairness'.

Yup I voted against Brexit then got blamed for being in a County that voted for is overall, despite partially losing my job as I was spending EU money. Same for the Tory lead council that then later cut salary budgets massively as the EU money ran out and had hundreds of people made redundant, which I was a part of and didn't vote for either.

Been looking for an opportunity to post this:

Could the Labour right be rattled? Maybe.

Well that's consistent of you at least!
Only time I did not end up voting for the closest competitor was when it unfortunately turned out to be UKIP....
I may be consistent, unfortunately it is not at winning, or fortunately considering who won? Idk. Can see why people think it will be make a difference tho when you are stuck in somewhere that shares none of your values as an average.

FFS:

Labour plots purge of troublesome MPs before next election

The article uses examples of MPs who there may well be genuine issues with but I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised to find left-wing MPs on the list as well.
everyone mentioned is fairly well centre/right of the party. Good fucking riddance to them. I would suspect a few more of the 'awkward squad' on the left may well be pushed out as well tho

Not that I'm particularly enamoured of Biden but a bit more like

"It's a two-party system you have to vote for one of us"

I'm no great fan of either Sunak or Starmer but at least they come across as rational whether you agree with them or not. The Tangerine Turd is just a complete nutjob though.

Perhaps, although several of the fuckers Sunak would appoint to the cabinet to actually push their ideas forward would also likely be complete nutjobs.

Indeed, although I could see unknown young fundie tory mps taking their place and taking up US arguing points like banning abortion, more restrictions on non-traditional families and the like.
