Help me find this audio adapter

I am getting tangled.

I think actually the alternative would be to try and find a cable which is female phono/RCA at one end and 1/4" jack at the other.

Basically the output of my pickup is male RCA/phono, and my pre-amp has a jack socket. So I was using the connector with a standard jack lead.

Unless I’m confused, you need something like this?
Is the problem also needing to extend away from your pick up?

You could easily find female to male jack cable to extend

Yeah that's no good. The pickup is mounted on the instrument and the preamp is in a box on the floor.

I think so.

Actually I've emailed Andertons now. It's a common enough brand of pickup (K&K) and they're a supplier. It can't be that niche a query really.

Why not just get one lead for the job?

I’ll have a look later as I’m on my phone now. Does it have to be a single unit or will a cable do the trick?

I have but can't find what I need. It's entirely possible I'm looking wrong.

I edited to say you could easily then extend from the adapter with a widely available female to male jack lead

Do you have pics of the equipment? Might help with seeing what would work and what would be a bad suggestion.

Also Canford is worth looking at if not already been there.

Yeah, the lead is the better idea. Adapters can introduce problems.

I use a 6mm to 3.5mm adapter between my headphones and sound card and it’s a PITA. Has to be just in the right position or you lose some of the signal. Drives me nuts.
