has Disco Dave Cameron put his foot in it?

Why should people on over 44k use the NHS? Or send their kids to state schools when they are rich enough to send their kids to privately? etc? That's what's coming trev.

No he's not. Trev is giving an honest response to the policy of the government. In this case, it is going in the direction the left wants (the rich to pay more) so it is not as controversial as the keyboard warriors around here are making it appear.

So would you welcome higher rate tax payers being charged for GP visits? It would make the 'rich' pay more.

They can afford to pay for private healthcare so let's make them do that too. More beds for everyone else! class war!

So for the enjoyment afforded by the loss of £20 a week to people earning in excess of £45,000 per annum, you are willing to laugh along with Trev (who described the policy as brave and fair) at an important attack on universalism. There is evidence of a lack of real world politics; just not where you are pointing the finger.

Louis MacNeice

Give over Louis, u impotent muppet. Universalism has been attacked so much already it doesn't matter, this 'universal benefit' stands out as the exception rather than the rule. We do not live in a welfare state, we live in a state with selective & variable welfare.

We've lost much already so let's not defend what we've still got; another shining example of you 'real world politics'. So I can take it you're up for charging higher rate tax payers for GP visits?

Louis MacNeice

so you are against universal benefits. so you must be against the universal benefits of the nhs and pensions?

no because charging for health will deter people from seeing the doctor and could have serious consequences, but many rich people have BUPA anyway

"Many rich people have BUPA anyway" excellent.

would you be happy to see people earning over 44k banned from using the nhs trev?

They're not the kids who the universalism of CB protects. They are also not kids who will be threatened by the attack on universalism.

Louis MacNeice

i agree with what you are trying to say. I just find it amusing that the one time the tories have ever hit rich people there's an outcry - especially when its from so called lefties!
