Good to hear from you. I went to a Quireboys gig a few weeks back and met up with a few of the old faces.G’day Mick and Editor
Hard to image we didn’t meet at some point during those heady days, or rather nights, as I rarely left Soho during the 80’s! For much of the decade I worked in Soho sex shops (mostly Walkers Crt) and a beer at either Gossips, the Marquee or the St Moritz, often all three, after shutting shop was the norm.
I’d usually hook up with staff from the Marquee, many of whom also worked at Gossips – Martini and Helen McCourt spring to mind. Marquee security guy Chuck was another friend who either promoted a night or DJ’d at Gossips if memory serves.
I’ve dug up a few photos from the time but cant seem to post em here.
Let's not Forget 'Pterodactyl Presley'....used to run a Wednesday club night in 88. This is a gig on stage at Gossips - wish I had a better picture - great fun.
Quireboys where cool, I used to hang out with Nigel Mogg at Gossips back then, Nigel get in touch if around mate, also looking for Chris Paris who was a guitarist in Pterodactl Presley with me for a while, good mates - but lost contact over the years. Ah, I remember the old office well, where Mick counted his millions!Digging through some photos I found some old pictures of Gossips from the mid/late 90s (Malice Underground/Tenebrae). Here's a picture of Mick in the office!

I studied in London in the fall of 1990 and lived for Wednesday nights at Gossips for Hard Club 90. Does anyone know where Turx, Cindy, John, Ford and my favorite goth boys Alan and Anthony are now?
Possibly the same Alan who is now one of the Organisers of Torture Garden but ran Goth night Psycho at Gossips around 1990?View attachment 28187

My mate ran Rumours - that's as close to Gossips as I got.
The Royal George was one odd pub. Garishly lit and not even slightly rock and roll, but there'd always been an ample quota of coiffured rockers there.Unless the Korsakoff's is kicking in i'm sure i posted on this thread?! Anyway...used to hang out down Wardour St (Ship, Intrepid, Astoria, Royal George) in my younger days (late 80's early 90's). Fucking loads of fun.
