Good bust cards?

... and they have a lot of experience of dealing with the fall out from crap duty solicitors.
So crap duty solicitors aren't crap just because they're crap then? They are only crap because they are "in league with the police".

Paranoid rubbish ...

I won't thanks, I have no idea what you're legal knowledge is, and I know from my own experience and from extensive discussions with solicitors, barristers and defendants that the advice given is sound.

Believe what you like, the solicitors who wrote No Comment do believe that some are, and they have a lot of experience of dealing with the fall out from crap duty solicitors.

One needs to know when to trust that person, not automatically do so.

Pretty extensive experience in the CJS, as a youth getting into trouble, then as an adult working in the courts and custody with offenders, alongside all the local criminal defence solicitors, with whom I developed extensive professional relationships.

I would like to see or hear of a shred of evidence you have that solicitors are working with the police. I doubt severely that you have any.

One needs to trust ones solicitor in the same way that one needs to trust ones doctor. An automatically guarded stance to either can in no way help you. Sure there are examples of professional incompetence in both areas, but I would suggest that most people in both professions are generally meticulous about the ethics of their positions.

Where on earth is the motive for a duty solicitor to be in league with the police? Why would they purposely give bad advice?

Also, that leaflet does not appear to be written by solicitors, but rather by the anarchist black flag group, and the wonky looking Legal Defence & Monitoring Group. The bust card written by Release, a reputable organisation with tons of solicitors volunteering, suggests that if you have an innocent explanation then you may be left alone by police, but always ask for a solicitor if you are arrested. They don't say watch out for the duty, because Release aren't issuing propaganda - they're issuing sound legal advice.
