Glamorgan University offer scholarship package aimed at Palestinian Students

Following lobbying from the student body, I hear that the vice chancellor and university of Glamorgan have agreed to offer 10 Palestinian students partial scholorships to study at the University of Glamorgan. In total that is £25,000 worth of funding divided amongst 10 Palestinian students.

Not sure why 10 partial scholarships rather than say, 1 or 2 full scholarships. But it seems a positive move. In the 80s, many universities in the UK offered special 'solidarity scholarships' to Black South African students. Now several UK academic institutions have set up special scholarship programmes for Palestinian students, sending old computers and books to Palestine and building up links with Palestinian academic institutions (mainly as a consequence of the student sit-ins earlier this year).

Now we will have to listen out for the first volleys from the Zionist propaganda artillery aimed at the university. That amount of money doesn't go far with 10 students though.
