Getting meals to people in need: any ideas?

Noone is trying to 'guilt trip' you. You're the one who came here to lecture others, remember?

Are you surprised people might want to get a grasp of what your motivations are? So what are they? Why are you here?

you are trying to guilt trip me. I think i need my own 'safe space'.
I am not here to attack charity, its only to highlight the fact that charity is not really politics.
and there's a virtue signalling aspect to all of this.

Er as skunk anansie pointed out everything's political

You're the only one signalling anything here mate.

No, seriously, you are signalling all sorts of things. You have read stuff into this thread that simply isn't there. This reveals much more about you than it does about anyone here.

no, i've pointed out your underlying basis, which is basically christian victorian charity.

Actually, my 'underlying basis' is that politics does fuck all, whereas people doing good deeds for each other actually gets things done. I'll ask you again the questions you have failed to answer. What has been said here that indicates people are only in it for Christmas? What has been said that indicates people here have a 'saviour complex'? What has been said that is an attempt to 'guilt trip' you? What are your motivations for posting here?

I didn't say people are only in it for Xmas, but many people are. you may not be.
the 'saviour complex' is inherent in charity. the fact i've pointed it out is the cause of your irrational hatred.
guilt trip - questions such as 'what do you do?'
motivations - just asking a question.

you say ' doing good deeds for each other actually gets things done'
probably, depends what you want to get done.

I didn't say people are only in it for Xmas, but many people are.

And as I asked, what has been said that indicates people on this thread are? If not, what is your point bringing that up here?

the 'saviour complex' is inherent in charity.

It's really not.

the fact i've pointed it out is the cause of your irrational hatred.

Which prompts another question. Where have I displayed hatred, irrational or otherwise, on this thread?

guilt trip - questions such as 'what do you do?'

A reasonable response to someone criticising others for what they do, no?

motivations - just asking a question.

No-one just asks questions. You must have a reason for doing so.

you say ' doing good deeds for each other actually gets things done'
probably, depends what you want to get done.

I generally assume people want to get food in peoples stomachs and get them out the cold/wet. Until proven otherwise why would I adopt a different position? Where would the utility be in that?

You sure you're not a leninist?

because charity is not about getting food in peoples stomachs, it about being seen to get food in peoples stomachs.
maybe not you, or your friends, but for many people, it is

Mention of 'safe space' means I can remove bit of a cunt and change it to total cunt on a wind up.

Total cunt.

Great rationalisation for doing fuck all for others

This doesn't answer any of the questions I asked, it just repeats the same claim you made before. But then you're just on the wind up at this point, so fuck it, I'm out of here. Merry Christmas.

i'm not on a wind up. you are asking stupid questions to deflect the 'saviour complex'.
merry christmas to you as well.

OK. I guess the thread has deviated a little, but that link isn't really helpful to the OP. Two guys want some good publicity for their business and spend time and cash providing free meals. Nothing really inauthentic that I see. Fully appreciate the point you are making (I think) - that people sometimes want something in return for their good deeds?

This is not the case in most circumstances. You don't read about most charity work, because people are not after publicity - they just want to help. People really, authentically do actually just want to help each other.
