Gerry Adams exposed , his lies demolished at brothers rape trial

Has anyone else noticed how Gerry's twitter feed has gone all third person and press releasey recently? None of the weird weather updates, what-I'm-having-for-breakfasts or half-time scores that his feed used to be chock full of.
You sure? He's still posting pictures of ducks and stuff about his dindins. In the early 90s, my sister used to work in a hotel that SF use for this and that. One day around christmas time she was pushing her trolley with balloons and other festive paraphenalia attached and Adams appears in the corridor. He stops her, says hello, and goes "can I have one of your balloooons?" So she gave him a balloon. What he did with it is not recorded.

New intern.

The idea that republicanism must win over one million Protestants in order to achieve a united Ireland is pure hokum. All republicanism ever had to do was split them and create a significant pro-United Ireland minority within them. Easier said than done, of course, and on that one point I agree with you.The republican strategy is, on paper, an ideal one. Unfortunately, it has all to often been implemented by a tactically inept leadership who put short term personal/political ambitions before long-term goals.
.

during the 1970s many unionists favoured UDI. Quite a few of them were candid enough to admit that if that was unsustainable they were prepared to accept a United Ireland, with certain changes obviously. It was always perfectly doable. Revol is just parrotting what he knows to be a propaganda line.

as regards the failure of that strategy my view is deliberate and sustained sabotage by republican leaders who seem to have been keenly protected by foreign interests has played as big a role as incompetence. If not greater.

Aye, he's an old has been, does anyone give a fuck about him?

It is certainly an interesting development.

I imagine the Shinners will cry foul over the imminent elections in which they are/were expected to take three seats south of the border and one in the north.

It will have no effect whatsoever on Sinn Féin's political strategy or the road they have chosen to travel. Not a hope.

If he's charged do you think it will have any implications on the peace process?

No. He's deliberately been moved to the sidelines this past few years. Sinn Fein will play this as a personal matter between him and the police and hope the matter gets resolved etc but they'll be the first to come out and say this has no bearing on current events in Stormont. It'll cost them too much electability wise to kick up a fuss.

Of course all the other parties must be jumping for joy now.

I wondered after Adams interview on the brilliant RTE/BBC NI documentary, The Disappeared, last year he would be taken in for further questioning.
The poor McConville family deserve closure and some justice after all these years.

Yep. Let's hope the cunt gets life.

Like if other leading Shinners said to the police they can go ahead with the arrest and they won't kick up a fuss.

I don't know if the police would give that much of a fuck what SF think etc.

Just curious

I sincerely doubt it. I would be surprised if he is charged tbh. Unless my suspicions/predictions which I will send to niggy tomorrow prove true.

I would be stunned if he is convicted, but I suspect he is finished politically if he is charged.
