General UK Climate News and Stories

Both Scottish and English road agencies have no responsibility to plan the impact of wider scale networks, only local issues, so it's not up to them to plan for carbon emissions or mitigate them. Just feed the cars more tarmac.

Drill down to that Dominic Hinde tweet, it's quite fascinating.

The usual suspects have rebranded themselves, presumably in the hope that people won't notice:

Am I right in saying arch-communist Kwarteng can't dictate how a private company spends their takings?

Where are the draft energy plans that invisage no need for gas beyond the economic lifetime of existing projects?
There are very little or none because successive governments have and continue to be in the pockets of big oil and capital in general. That doesn't mean we should not try to rectify this situation. And yes Kwarteng is a twat.

End result of decades of under investment in high speed rail or reliable public transport and subsidising air travel.

The flight clocks in at almost 2,000 miles (3,180km), compared with the road distance of 272 miles (438km) for the trip from Sunderland to Wembley.
Mr Jelly said: "I didn't really think about how environmentally friendly my trip would be, the carbon footprint isn't great, but I in all honestly just wanted the best deal."

Embarrassing for the vermin but will it make any difference? I'd like to think so but what with the leadership election and them all seeing how they can out-cunt each other, I am not optimistic:
