General non league chat, match reports, photos etc

Sorry I’m new to using the forum so apologies if this has been a thread before. Just wondered if anyone knows the rough kind of wages Dulwich will be paying and what the kind of level is in the isthmian compared to the NLS where I know there are some full time clubs. It’s something I can’t really seem to find much info on, I mean my assumption is Dulwich pay well at the level we are at?
This is something you’ll never find out accurately. As I’ve discovered in my time there are a lot of people in Non League Football who claim to have knowledge of such matters and often prove to be wildly inaccurate or even just plain delusional. Except when it comes to attracting key talent I’ve never really been interested in the actual funds available to a manager more in their ability to get the best returns from them in terms of the quality of player they can attract. In my time at Dulwich I’ve seen some players paid a “pretty decent” wage only to provide zero return on that investment in them. Similarly seen players plucked from obscurity who’ve been worth every penny and more.

Former Liverpool winger Jordan Ibe has joined Ebbsfleet. He's still only 27, played over 100 Premier League games, and Bournemouth once paid over £15 million for him.
He hasn't played much in the last 3 years , according to his wiki stats, one game since the start of 20/21 season. He was never going to get a club higher up to take a chance on him, he's young enough to rebuild his career - seems a good move tbf.

can’t believe how screwed Horsham have been with their FA cup tie away at Barnsley. Scheduled for 7:45pm on the Friday. Also not on TV as the Sheppey United game is on instead. Gutted for some of their fans who now won’t be able to make it

The decision appears to be the work of South Yorkshire Police, who can't cope with this match taking place at the same time as Sheffield United v Wolves and Rotherham v QPR. Why it couldn't have been played on the Sunday afternoon instead seems unclear.

Double bubble pay if on a Sunday

Winchester City have planning permission for our ground improvements, including a 3G pitch. Much joy on social media. There was some opposition from one bunch of local residents, but the application went through 9-0.
Our current pitch is an absolute disgrace in places, and we have too many games postponed due to waterlogging. The plan is to turn the ground into a genuine community asset, as we'll be able to host a lot more games there.

Not sure why there's not more covered standing involved. The clubhouse could do with a refurb too. No idea why we are spending money on the car park.

Hopefully a big step forwards. Should be ready for next season?

Also ex-academy player, Kiki Oshiliaja and from this season Calvin Ekpiteta.

And not forgetting Steve McKimm of course.

I think Alfie May is the brother of Ben May who played for us in our first season in the National South.

We never had Ben May. We had Jay May, who subsequently went to Ashford United. I'm not sure whether all three are related, or just two of them.

A point for each one you’ve done plus extra points for suggesting missing components. 1700588217038.png
