Plenty of good apps like sofa score and football web pages that give real time alerts throughout the games. FWP to a pretty granular level including yellow and red cards. I have used that over twitter for a long time. Worth having a look imo

Like a lot of things social media-ry there are pros and cons to either form.

As an intermediary could 'key posts' be auto posted to twitter? Must be a plug in or the like for that.

Very much a fan of the new page btw, will be my home to follow the game along with radio but we evidently all follow the updates in various ways we prefer.

We're going to continue to post goals on X and other platforms! Obviously as time goes on we can assess what is working and what isn't working etc.

Don't want to be the negative one and the website updates do look great, but just from my own personal point of view I'm a bit disappointed to see the club turn away from posting match updates on Twitter/X. As much as I hate what Twitter has become, it's really still the place to be in terms of numbers and sharing, and I'm sure it must help with the club's visibility. The new approach just feels a bit 'tucked away' and out of sight to me. As a long distance fan who now only makes it to two or three games a season since leaving London, I rely on Twitter quite heavily for football updates on a Saturday and having to go to a separate website on top of that just feels like a bit of a cumbersome extra step to me.

At the very least it would be good to see the club post a comprehensive end-of-game tweet that just provides the basic info, i.e. "Full-time score: Dulwich Hamlet 1 Hashtag United 1, Hashtag win 5-4 on penalties. Attendance: XXXX. Follow the link for the match report." (that sort of general idea).

It just feels to me like it's become a bit harder to find those basics about how the game went.

Further to what Kian said, we are in the process of developing an app for Apple and Android but it is a bit of a slow process due to spare time constraints. If anyone is good at this sort of stuff, has a bit of spare time and wants to get involved let me know. Experience with the process of publishing apps would be idea.

It will initially be a replica of the website where you will be able to access the app with a push of a button, and when that has loaded click the match centre button to get all you need for a match day. I am currently testing the Android version and it seems to work well. Long term, we plan to move it towards an app like City and Arsenal etc have which is more app like and less website like. That is a fair bit down the road though.

There are all sorts of hoops you have to jump through to get them published. We may ask for beta testers here in the coming weeks. Even though I know it works fine, for Android we have to have X number of beta testers using it for a couple of months. And I have not even looked at the process for Apple yet. Apple/Iphone covers a very large amount of our fanbase so I would not like to release Android without Apple.

Also i checked train times today and Folkestone away looks surprisingly do-able on Tuesday 19th. I'll start a thread later in the week if no one else has done it.

I haven't seen an announcement for the Lewes fixture. At the moment 10th December is the first Tuesday both teams are free, so it won't be before that.

Folkestone can be done, but you can only get home by the more expensive HS1 route to St Pancras via Stratford International. You can probably catch the train just before 10pm, as long as the final whistle goes by 9.45pm, otherwise the last train is an hour later.

This is great to see as a start.

To add to the conversation about Twitter, I'll start by saying that I completely understand that Twitter has played a number of functions for the club (keeping fans up to date from afar, growing our supporter base, driving international engagement) and that as a small comms team you have to act cautiously while balancing a number of things.

However, Twitter is at another level compared to the other platforms. We're talking about race riots instigated on the platform, a failure to engage with counter extremism forces around the world, massive spikes in racial slurs, glorification of white supremacy and suing anti-racism charities for posting research into hate speech on the platform. I work with the platforms and I work with NGOs around the world on this subject. I've presented evidence to senior staff on some of the most horrific content. This should not be a question of engagement.

Dulwich has a chance here to ride the current wave to Bluesky (Sports media's migration from X to Bluesky has accelerated post-election) and to seize some media coverage as a pioneering football club in the UK on the way out

Why not help lead the charge as the club so often has in the past?

We still have to play 3 of the teams above us twice each, so plenty of opportunities to close the gap by winning the 6 pointers. We urgently need to improve our away form, as we've performed like two different teams home and away so far. Lewes are falling away after their flying start but the current top 4 all seem fairly consistent or are improving.

The bottom looks pretty good with Bognor down there. I've nothing against the club or its supporters, but relegation couldn't happen to a nicer bloke than malevolent dictator Jack Pearce. Hashtag too. It would be nice to see their players cupping their ears after a Hamlet victory next Saturday.
