I’ve been following Hamlet since the mid 1980’s as my local non-league side ahead of Fisher Athletic. Never was Hamlet vociferously political in any way shape or form. I left Camberwell to live in north London in 2005 and at that time Hamlet were not in the least associated with any political or so-called social agenda be it left wing or right wing. I most definitely describe myself as of the political left but bringing politics in to football has and will continue to bring about enemies. There have already been attacks based on Dulwich Hamlets alleged political and/or social stance. Dartford, Cheshunt, Plymouth Parkway to name 3. It happening again is hardly new.
Crack on with your neo-liberal political agenda all you want to but ultimately you’re better off forming a political party and leaving football alone rather than insisting on a right wing backlash!
