i often lust after the furniture in old sitcoms i want one of those ?60s kitchen cabinets, i'm fairly sure they have one in black books... but don't have space
Every charity furniture shop in the country is overflowing with stuff like this. Unless it's from a desirable manufacturer, it's not going to get much IMO.
I like the those elephant prints The curtains not so much.I do want a cocktail bar like that though. They were dirt cheap for years but some, especially the brilliant boat ones, are going right up in price.

Join the mid century modern group on facebook if you want to enjoy daily posts from people posting pics of grim mass produced 1970s chipboard crap they've inherited from their grandparents, hoping they've struck midmod gold, only to be brutally torn down by the danish & american furniture purists that dwell there...
It's from the 50's (definitely pre-1962) not 70's, and it's pretty solid, certainly not chipboard. I imagine it wasn't cheap at the time. My nan didn't scrimp when it came to buying stuff - often when her and my grandad couldn't afford it, apparently (a weeks wages on a clock for the mantelpeice kind of behaviour)
It's a bit difficult as it is at my late uncles house 30 miles away and I'm relying on pictures my mum is sending me. She can't find a manufacturers name on it though. I think the pattern is too repetitive to be veneer. This is a pic of the top...
I'm not expecting to get loads of money for it. Would just like it to go to someone who will appreciate it (it's got a lot of my childhood memories attached to it)
