A documentary is being made about free party scene of the early 90’s .
It’s being funded by Kickstarter which I’m including here
Not far off it’s target now tbh it thought it maybe of interest to some of us aging ravers out there
This does look good - hope they can get the cash needed to get it the next stage. Despite, at the time, not really liking the music and not taking the drugs, I managed to find myself at quite a few of the events that will be in this film
Absolutely, rave revived a moribund free festival scene and I was mostly glad to be part of it, even if it wasn't entirely to my tasteI loved the music and the drugs and was also at many of the events in this film. Sorry for wrecking your scene Ground Elder, but it was on its arse anyway
I saw this video the other day, can't see me in it but there's an ex who looks so weirdly young. Did wondered vaguely how many of you lot are in there too.

I was at the front, by accident more than anything, when they charged with the horses. Nasty shit - there were young babies there ffs. Wankers with masks on appeared behind us telling us to 'hold your ground'. Rather convenient how, where and when they turned up.(((bahnhof strasse)))
I was just to the left of the video guy when the horses rode in at Downing Street.
Stayed to the end of the Battle of Park Lane as an interested observer, I was a lover not a fighter. As the police lines closed in I was grabbed by the collar by a high up copper and invited to leave the area very fucking quickly if I knew what was good for me. I didn't argue. Not sure why he took pity on me and pulled me out of the developing kettle but I bravely ran away and avoided getting battered.

There's a thread on here somewhere devoted to it.
Main thing I remember is shouting at people to stop throwing things. The coppers had charged with the horses and split the crowd in two. The bottles were flying right over them into the crowd on the other side.Probably within shouting distance of each other then.
I'm sure there is a thread and I probably put that anecdote on it as well but can't for the life of me remember where it is.
I was there but can't see any familar faces. Probably for the best.
During this time the BBC came and filmed at a rave friends of mine organised in caves in Cheshire - for a criminal justice bill segment as part of that DEF2 yoof TV - I'd so love to track that footage down. All these rave documentaries only ever include stuff from within the M25 and we did manage to party elsewhere too.
It's not a party, just a set from 2019 from somewhere but some of the same people involved. Brought back memories, used to love that stuff.Oh god I hope I'm not in it
