Frankie Boyle - business as usual (Rebecca Adlington)

So if she dodged tax but was our darling marathon runner she gets a pass from jokes?

Or a gag about Dwain Chambers perhaps?

She seems ok. I'd rather have a pint with boyle tho.
He's got all the tools when it comes to being a comedian, including shock value. Just that he uses it to be be a pretty standard reactionary and bully.

I'm not normally into venerating sports stars and 'positivity', but she seems like a genuine and nice person

Which sports stars would be okay then? Just interested in your outrage and where people should draw the line.

It's not about who the target is you prat, it's about the content of the joke. FFS

Sorry. The OP wording was unclear and akin to a Daily Mail headline. It may have confused my warped sense of humour...

Even as a rhetorical question that's pretty stupid. I could just as easily ask about your line. Have a good old laugh about the disable athletes who have lost limbs or can't walk? Ha ha! It's not about lines it's about making choices about your act and material. Being an 'edgy' or aggessive comedian isn't a 'pass', it's about whether you act like a twat or not. Same as everybody else.

No

I'm sure we had this same thread pretty recently. The subject was rape jokes tho.

Not sure mocking the size of Adlington's proboscis is up there with some of the shit on that thread.

The thread has been done many many times.

not this old thread again...

people who don't understand comedy shouldn't critic it anymore than infant school teachers should attempt brain surgery...

"Look at that woman I have never met, doesnt she look funny" is not comedy - even at an infant school.

He's just a bully.
no he's a comedian, you and others pushing for certain types of comedy to be censored because it don't meet your exacting standards are in fact the bullies by dictating what a wider audience should or should not be exposed too in terms of your personal taste ...

If you don't like it turn: it off/ it over/away from it

don't seek to censor others by the standards of your own pedestrian sense of humour...

I'm sorry can you point me to the official urban humour list so I can make sure I'm down with the agreed party line on this Mr Whipp...

you know so that the group think can be maintained at all possible cost...

Please show where people have called for Boyle to be censored.

Boyle owes me money, I got his book at a charity shop and the cunts only stuffed it with material he has already used. The cheap bastard.

Suggesting I and others are trying to censor him are as daft as gabi's 'it's not as bad as rape jokes'. He makes his jokes, he builds his career, does comedy - I'm not trying to stop him, I'm reacting to it. Censoring him - sweet jesus! If I was funnier and on a stage, I'd be pretty much saying what Stewart Lee says about him (and yes, I am aware that Lee himself gets similarly personal).
