Former players...

It is so unlike a Gillingham kit I checked to see if had gone out on loan
Random colours for away kits is a pet hate of mine, although black and white stripes was the club colours at one time and they often use it for change kits. I think the home kit is blue with white shoulders for this season.

Jamie Partington has signed for Cheltenham. He barely made the first team at Larne.
He needs regular first team football. I thought he had all the necessary attributes but he's just turned 23 and barely has any experience of open age men's football.

Yes, you've already posted it in another thread.

There's a strange quirk in the rules which means quite a few young pro keepers never play. If you are under a certain age (25?) and haven't played many first team games (less than 6?) your employer is allowed to loan in an emergency goalkeeper if the first choice is injured.

Basically some clubs sign a very cheap back up so they have a goalkeeper for training matches etc with no intention of playing them. I wonder whether that's where Jamie is at?

Hopefully not as it's clearly not a long term career and they often struggle to find employment when too old to work as a non playing keeper. Even any standard non league club is typically worried about a 25+ year old who hasn't played first team men's football. Having spent a few years at Wolves, I'd have thought he should be aiming higher than that

There's a real whiff of last chance saloon about this season for him.

Lewis Gonsalves scored for Tooting yesterday. A childhood friend and near neighbour of their manager apparently.

Tooting fans aren't sure if it's long term or he was helping out as they had four centres halves unavailable.
I was wondering if it was "chewy" but the team sheet said Lewis Gonzales.

The Tooting forum think it's the ex Hamlet player. I wasn't at their match, the team sheet may be right.

Seems odd someone knows he's a mate of the manager but not that it's not the ex DHFC bod. My money is it on it being him.
He's also played regularly for Tooting before for a season, when he first left us after losing his place to Ethan Pinnock, so their supporters ought to know who he is.

Confirmation with the correct spelling!

Not only is it Junior Kadi’s birthday, he’s also Sporting Director at Leatherhead.

Edited to say: missed that he’s been in the role for the best part of six months.

Francis Quarm started for Corinthian Casuals last weekend. He played a majority of our league matches as long ago as the 2001/02 season, so he must be at least 40 by now. I'm assuming it's him and he doesn't have a son of the same name. I haven't noticed him playing anywhere for a good few years now.

I've enlarged this photo taken at the game and possibly just to the right of the orange post is Francis Quarm?
