Emoji jacket for cyclists designed by car giant Ford

A new LED light-up jacket that allows cyclists to communicate with drivers and other cyclists has been launched by Ford.

Interesting development. However it should be limited to indicator lights and road-related warning signs only IMO. Being able to display emotion signs, certainly negative/ critical emotions such as unhappy, angry or sad faces, is only going to lead to grief...

I like the basic idea. But would it, like so many cyclists do with hi-vis, be covered up by a backpack?

Good point. Some more flexibility for visual signalling seems like an interesting idea, but emojis don't seem like the best way.
