Films set in San Francisco & surrounding area

moonsi til

worked it out now!
I’m looking for films to recommend to 12 & 15 yr olds please. They are off to California in October on an amazing trip to visit family & see the sites. They have a week in San Fran so any films or TV shows to watch of San Fran & surrounding areas to enhance that just like the film feeling.

They are going to muscle beach & Anaheim too & maybe downtown LA.

If you're popping la in the mix then the big sleep, once upon a time in Hollywood, farewell my lovely, double indemnity and so on ad nauseam

If not the whole film, they should watch this from Bullitt with a drive around San Francisco to get a sense of the hills and can also see Coit Tower - Wikipedia, Alcatraz and the Golden Gate bridge.

The Towering Inferno is set there and was partly filmed at the former Bank of America tower on 555 California Street - Wikipedia

Maybe The Rock.

Of more recent ones, although futuristic, Rise of the Planet of the Apes and X-Men: The Last Stand.

A bit niche but if they happen to like skateboarding then this is perfect although it really is just about skating. The ‘story’ is as bad a porno.
Also, Tony Hawk when only fairly well known.

Eta...not all set in SF
