Just watching the womens hurdles, it is good to see the legacy of Flo-Jo still alive and well with the bling the runnsers wear. I mean really, you are running a sprint hurdles and you go out with earings, necklaces, and other paraphenalia!

I can't believe I'm quoting wikipedia but I didn't know Flo Jo was dead and Googled..

Her shortened life apparently had nothing to do with her running career or medals but due to a congenital brain defect from before birth that led to seizures, including a fatal one.

I loved US Track & Field in the 80's, still do. It was wild and fast and competetive. Hating Carl Lewis. The garish costumes and the fanfare. It was a different age.
