Was saying to my mate during the France/Netherlands quarter final, one of the things that always bemuses me about sport is when there's such a blatant tactic with one player and yet somehow teams still don't shut it down.

In this case, it's "if there's a corner or free kick near the box, it's going to be aimed at Renard". Instinctively, after the 93rd time it happened, you'd think the opposition would just pile on around her, and yet somehow she almost always manages to get to the ball

Other one that always got me was Robben. He's going to cut in on his left and try to curl it into the top corner. You know he's going to do it. Just don't let him do it. Oh, he did it.

Oh aye, there's definitely part of me that is pre-emptively annoyed by how the added attention this game'll get will be muddied by a certain section of people giving it all that. Fingers crossed it's drowned out by the atmosphere we've all been celebrating through the tournament.
