Ive got a tenner on Portugal to win the whole thing at 9 to 1 - so far so good!

I thought Portugal were playing on top form tonight against a pretty impresivelly resiliant Turkey - if that had been England playing like Portugal tonight, Monday would be a national holiday.

Turkey had good possession and looked good in attacking areas but Nihat was to isolated. Emre and Aurelio played well up against Deco and Moutinho. Defensively they were a bit fragile, especially from corners and when Gokhan got taken off they got penetrated more easily. I'm still supporting the Turks though! I reckon they could do the Czech Republic.

Iberia looks good this time, trouble is Spain will have to play either Holland, Italy or France in the QF whereas Port won't have too till the SF at least, or is it indeed the final itself.

They're currently just below Mozambique and Bolivia in the world rankings.

They could well and truly embarrass themselves in this competition. I believe there was a petition within the country pleading with the Austrian FA to pull out of hosting the championships.

Being of Hungarian decent, I hope they get battered tonight.

I thought the two penalty claims would have been harsh, more so the second, but as they're all saying, "you've seen 'em given".

Yes, tough on the Swiss. The first was a very solid penalty claim for me because Ufjalusi had his hands waving about in the air and he just shouldn't have. The second would have been unfair, I felt.
