England V Tunisia 19.00 Hrs Monday 18 th June (Volgograd Arena)

my impact player. towns the man for me. badly treated by southgate. shame on gareth.
You're comparing Townsend to the all time WC top scorer. A journeyman winger to a classic forward.

I think we can safely discount any further opinions you might venture on the topic of football.

Klose was a great player, world class i would say.
Townsend has had a few good moments in his Career , had some pace and trickery but only seems to do it on rare occasions .
I would guess the poster is a palace fan and backing his man.
He was on loan at millwall from spurs at one time their forward line had Kane,Puncheon, Wood,Townsend.
Think he also scored on his England debut.

no i didn't. you said i said that. what i said was some players are better at international level than they are at club level. AT is one of those type of players.
Hang on. You said Townsend was like Klose, and that Townsend is an impact player. Do I need to spell it out further?

Also Klose played for years at the very top of club football, while AT has had a fine career, but hardly one that will earn him a place in the history books.

It was a bit of an odd one they kept him on as long as they did, I know he's an important player to England but it didn't seem to me that he offered much in that second half.
Indeed! Early tournament nerves most likely :hmm: It seems stupid to consider starting him against Panama when Loftus-Cheek can take at least the first half.

I don't get the point of pushing an injury when qualification can be won as early as Sunday. If it was Kane would GS risk ruining his tournament while Vardy is waiting on the bench.

Will see what the medics do eh?

Which I'm particularly aware of because I'm at Alton Bloody Towers
Not been for years so reading some reviews :)
Get to the gate and despite having buy on get one free tickets, 2 adults and 2 children plus parking came to £109. Thats £55 for one adult and £48 for a child. £6 parking. Now I've worked this out and even if I'd have booked online (where the vouchers weren't valid) it'd cost £121.
Try to make time for the Rollercoaster Restaurant if you can.
I'm actually writing this review while still in the restaurant i'm that appalled by it. Where do I start? Staff tell you how to order but no one actually explains how you have to fiddle with straps to get you food out. I can live with that.
When the food came, it was lukewarm at best. My partner ordered steak but she then had to wait to actually ask someone for a steak knife. When she got one, her food was also cold. She had her meal replaced and it did come back warmer but without the peppercorn sauce this time.

Our 3 year old son was desperate to go to the toilet half way through our "meal" so I took him to the disabled/baby change toilet, after first having to pick a lump of dried excrement off the floor using tissue paper as my son couldn't wait for me to go get someone to sort it.
When I did return to the restaurant and asked to speak to someone to tell them the reply I got was "oh it was okay when I checked earlier.."

Worst meal out ever and ruined what had so far been a lovely day for our daughter's birthday

Oh a little addendum... the kids ice cream just turned up... the silver dishes were warmer than the ones for the main meals!

It'll be fun even if it is a bit shit. We're staying in the Splash Landings Hotel, and my kids have just discovered the joy of waterparks, so worse case scenario they can spend the weekend in there:D

Badgers what i want to know is what you're eating during these matches. it would help take my mind off the awful commentary
Well, funny you should ask old friend...

For the opening England game I had hotdogs (with proper cart onions) and a dessert of Walls Mint Vienetta.

Lunch today has been a pastrami and cheese sandwich washed down with a Pinto Grigio.

For this evenings game I have lamb kebabs in a mint/yogurt marinade with couscous.
