but when you stick everything inside pikey circus tents the light can't get out.
But that's probably why people take torches. I had a couple of torches back at the tent but it never ocurred to me to take them out with me. I was very impressed by people who did remember them. Having floodlit arena's wouldn't be particularly atmoshperic would it?

Sounds like a fab weekend with the weather playing its part..:)

I went for first time for last years mud-fest and wasn't that impressed but I could see with sunshine how wonderful it could be. Despite that I'm not envious about not having gone as music is important to me at a festival and endorse it just doesn't do it for me.

Glad 99.9% of you had a splendid weekend..:)

i didn't really notice any problems with the loos, the bands (that i noticed) weren't really to my taste but a lot of other people seemed to enjoy them. the horse box cafe at the top of the camping area needs to have a few lessons in catering for large groups :D

They also need lessons in turning down their sound system  They seemed pretty fucked most of the time. Someone asked for beans on toast and the bloke said 'Can I just give you beans on bread? Toast is gonna be a bit of a problem for me' :D

no complaints about security - fairly low key, a bit more noticable on the sunday (maybe after reports of thefts on saturday night) but they didn't seem to be in anyone's face at all.

yep, totally agree dodgers. security was excellent, only being pro active when there was a need.

But no-one's suggesting a floodlit arena. Just a bit more light ... a reasonable adjustment.

last year i didn't bother with ladies' day, this year i made a half-arsed effort, next year i reckon i'll go full on - there was some very impressive efforts there

WOW - I had an awesome festival... didn't hang out with as many urbs as normal but managed to have fun nonetheless as had lots of non-urb mates there.... woudl have been nice to see a bit more of some of you though!

anyhoo - another fantastic festy from the lovely endorse-it peeps. I sort of missed the big main stage a bit, which is really nice to chill in front of when the weather is nice, but I can see why they took it undercover, from a rain point of view and also it created nice little bits of space and *all* tents had crowds instead of it being unfairly weighted towards the main stage.

favourite bits for me were:
- pronghorn
- hobo jones & the junkyard dogs
- strummerville (got to love a new area)
- private 3 hour show from the wonderful and amazing Tragic Roundabout in Malinkey's on Friday night/Sat morning - they made my festival and I learned to play the spoons and the clarinet... not bad for a night's work
- the wonderful company of the Malinkey's crew
- not seeing tp except for a few seconds on the Friday
- as always, the beatiful glory of the Splott Brothers
- having enough nox to see me through the pain of Saturday
- the sunshine
- that the cider/scrumpy lasted for as long as I wanted to drink it :)

roll on next year.....

(and if you didn't like the bands this year, I doubt you'll like them next year! ;))

miaow!!

for the 2nd emboldened bit - do you already know the lineup for next year then?

Well, I thought it had it's moments but I would go so far as to say it was even close to my 'fave festival ever'.

The music just wasn't varied enough, yeh ok I understand it was a mainly ska and punk festival but it all sounded the same... An I have enough ska and punk of my own to know that need not have been the case.

Nice to meet a few Urbs etc, though I probably only met like 2% of the total there  And yeh, Ph you have the biggest Cojones in the whole of Endorse-it. You definately won the festival mate!! :D

Jefe and Ed's sets in the Wig on were actually the musical highlight for me, it was nice to hear some variety in there if nowhere else. :D

Yeh, the vibe was good. Although I did hear a few dodgy security stories, Ground Elder mentioned something they'd done that was proper harsh. Personally though I didn't notice them all that much.

Well done to the organisers for the tractor taxis/helping everyone in the mud etc. Like any small festival I'm sure they have lots of things they want to do and improve on, but they seem to have the right mentality so I'm sure it will go from strength to strength.

I'd go again, but I wouldn't be really gutted if I couldn't make it for some reason. :)

E2A - I'm not sure the Glittery Poo story should be explained... EVER!

I really hope they have the same bands next year because some of them were absolutely brilliant - and hopefully the people who don't like them won't go next year - go to another festival instead, simple!

My only complaint was toilets not being as clean as last time I went (2 years ago) and shame about there not being the big open air stage, but that's understandable, because of the rain last year.

I did bump into a couple of miserable people but I just moved away from them very quickly. Well done flounders and everyone else involved - thank you thank you!

oh, it might be worth warning people next year about lack of cash machines, so people take enough cash (we knew about it, but some people didn't).

Big love and hugs to all the lovely people with a friendly face and warm hearts I spent time with.

and once again, hurray for tractors!!!!

Seriously though, some people will just moan at anything... Just stay at home and spare us all from the misery.

You forgot to mention me for being such good company :)

This is true, I thought it wa pretty funny just how hot and sunny it was. So very British, we moan like stink about the rain and then when the sun blazes we moan about that! :D

Though Sun and hangovers don't mix :(

There was loads more music than ska and punk. There was a fuckung excellent breakbeat duo called Bosch Stacey on friday night for example.

But moaning is fun!!! :D

Seriously though, compared to last year this time was awesome! I'll take sweltering sunshine over driving rain every time!

looking forward to next year already. still can't be fucked with glastonbury again but def gonna go back to dorset :D
That's how I'm feeling too.

WOW - I had an awesome festival... didn't hang out with as many urbs as normal but managed to have fun nonetheless as had lots of non-urb mates there.... woudl have been nice to see a bit more of some of you though!
I didn't know you were there!

I didn't know you were there!

yup, made it in the end :)

I was very much there all of Friday night/SAturday morning (mostly in Malinkeys) and less so on Saturday and Sunday...

shame we didn't bump into you though... another thing I miss about the main stage... almost guaranteed to bump into everyone lazing/raving in front of the main stage at some point or another...

easily the best EiiD i have been to: the sunniest, the funniest, the friendliest, the silliest.

I enjoyed a lot of the live stuff.. Inner Terrestials, Tofu Love Frogs, Subgiant, Zion Train, and a few others that i never learnt the name of

to go against the grain somewhat, I thought Sham 69 were fantastic.. I had very low expections from them and was surprised by not bad they were.. guitarist was superb and was much more musical than i expected, conversely, i was looking forward to Dreadzone but felt like they were sleepwalking through their set at times.

However, there was no competition for best performance of the festival... WHO'S AFEARD on scrumpy sunday was the most fun, joyful and filthy act of the festival. kevicious was totally on fire, funnier than all those so-called comedians put together... even though most of the jokes went completely over my non-dorset head.

every year there are more ladies on ladies day and it really makes the day, boys make the effort to dress up and everyone in hysterics (hersterics?) at the sheer grotesque glamour of it all .. and then there was _pH_  +

the sunday day long drum'n'bass from the Asian Grub Foundation canteen was solid gold.. often annoying when the bands came on and they had to stop. likewise the sunday evening dance music in the main beer tent was a welcome break from ska, punk, and oldies.

other highlights include
  • beating the heat on sunday morning in the wonderful han&jan's paddling pool.. while being served organic cider with ice and meeting the purple virgins.
  • crispy wandering round in just his david lee roth tights,
  • iemanja and magneze's matching false eyelashes,
  • eastender, sleaterkinney & ldr in dresses.
  • pieminister pies
  • lots of free drugs
  • hippy crack
  • that dorset flag dress
  • bumping into my mate william for first time since EiiD'07

for such a small festival, was surprised not to didn't see as much of the urb crowd as we'd like; topcat, crustychick, trashy, wiskey, derv&respective offspring. i think EiiD missed out by not having a lounging around area in the wig on casino. but the bus and strummerville did a little to make up for it. as did the herculean efforts of "dj lee" :p & his support acts.. I reckon there might be a case for a small urban stage next year :hmm:

enjoyed camping with the gang at camp anything-but-sensible. as well as the journeys to and from london.

finally and most importantly thanks to flounder, pronghorn and all the many, many others who make it happen and keep it getting better and better. we will be back next year.
