I enjoyed that loads more than I thought I would
For me it was about the people. The sheer volume of people from Urban was fab. We definitely had the best camp
Everyone was helpful and were all doing what they could for each other. It was a very good atmosphere.
Some highlights were pH doing the punk karaoke - he ROCKED!!!, the unfortunate mass tourettes incident in the restaurant (I have no
idea how that started
) spending so much time laughing with the lovely Spoony - I fuckin' luvs ya
, meeting so many new people and at one point asking if some people were from Urban but being told, 'No, they're real', finding out that a sausage can be a useful weapon in the armoury of attempted seduction, seeing how genuinely perplexed some poeple can get by a woman with a moustache, going hat shopping with Felix and then having a lovely ice cream and a doze in the sun, being able to wander 30 yds and meeting a whole different bunch of people from here, popping my pieminister cherry and the way the sweet and lovely J&M humoured me and spoony when we were going, 'But.....but......but.....it's gravy in a box. Gravy. In a box.'
Seeing people I don't see often enough was also a real bonus and thanks for everyone's help with tents and carrying stuff. The fact it was such a small site turned out to be a real gift and I'm nowhere near as fucked as I have been from other festivals.
The music was a bit 'meh' and I like a bit more cabaret and walkaround theatre and stuff but it was a nice old fashioned feel good festie.
Oh, and a special thanks to Pootle for all the gaffer tape
