I keep being very bad at the moment, just bought a rage spell.....I can't stop the urge to cast it on the poor citizens. they just go bananas and end up getting killed by the guards:oops: :D
I just restarted as a heavy combat person, i'm going to have to get me one of those rage spells for the assasin's guild :D

Just got this game, had to wait until the end of exams. Pretty damn sweet. My Dunmer archer is working out quite well, although it's annoying to discover that Alteration isn't nearly as useful in this game as it was in Morrowind.

One thing I can't figure out- is it possible to give characters beards etc?

Unfortunately I have put this game on hold for now because I am just getting too annoyed with my lack of sufficient graphics. It does run when you turn things right down, but it also gets annoying lock ups from time-to-time, and although they eventually resolve themselves and unfreeze it is just too much like wading through treacle for me, and of course I am missing out on all the eye candy: might as well save it up and do it properly.

I have my eye on the new 7600gs and 7600gt agp-flavour cards that are due out soon, to try and squeeze the last drops out of my athlon xp2800+ (currently with 9700pro) this year, before an upgrade when all the new chips, dx and vista type malarky arrive (and I have saved a bit more cash).

Gah! Missed out on buying this for £0.99 on eBay today (was watching it and forgot came back to see it had ended with zero bids)!

Well,

Having given this a rest for nearly 40 days, I stuck it on yesterday morning for "a bit" and ended up playing 8 hours straight!

Just when I try to get out - they pull me back in!

I have got some of the downloadable content now - the Vile lair (easy vampirism cure as I am finally getting tired of it!) plus my secret underground pirate ship stealth-base!

Completed the mages guild recommendations and the Mehrunes razor (add-on) quests.

Need to get my character up to master marksman and stealth next - nearly there!

My character, having started off as super evil vampire and assassin is now seemingly on the road to redemption! A path I have not chosen as such but it seems to be the natural evolution of the quests and order in which I have chosen them and the way I am playing the game.......love it!

I am now a super sneaky theif and master of the Arena to boot.

I have never played a game that allowed such freedom of choice in the way that you approach it and play it.

Have I done any more of the main quest yet? Have I fuck!

40 hours of gameplay and I still haven't gone back to see Martin yet.....

Anyone got any suggestions for some good low-end mysticism spells i can buy to use and get my skill up to 25 ASAP?

Although I have a staff of soul-trap, I really want it in spell form ( I have the spell, I just can't use it) and, at the moment my skill is lurking around the 11 :)o ) mark.

Also - how does one get in a position to enchant items with low duration soul trap? I would like to get a high end bow and imbue it with some good extra damage powers and a 3 second soul trap.....with my master sneak rating and my Azuras star I should be able to one-shot-kill a lot of dudes with it and thus keep my weapons charged with a minimum of fannying around.

I have some options when I enchant - fire damage etc etc, but not soul trap.

Jeeeesus - that has to be the single geekiest thing I have ever, ever posted on these boards....

A really shite Detect Life might do the job. Otherwise you should save your pennies and get some training.

A mate reckons that Bethesda are going to release a big expansion eventually, and that it'll be the entire province of Summerset Isle. Is there any evidence for this or is he talking bollocks? It'd be amazing if they did that, but I wanna see Skyrim too.

Sounds about right, they did for morrowind and it's policy to design the big name games to have expansion packs. It means they sell the expansions without having to rejig the engine, sell more of the orriginal as people hear about it again and then gives them "collectors edition" box sets for those foolish enough to go for that.

Cool - a combo of DL and cold hard cash should do it then.

I have no problems getting money now I have both the grey foxes hood and a master sneak rating......robbing people blind is great fun!

But... an entire province? I hope it's true. I think the guy who told me was just guessing from the fact that so many NPC conversations mention Summerset Isle and the Altmer. I guess they could have it as a separate map-you could get a boat from Anvil or maybe teleport from the Arcane University.

An odd sighting near Bruma: two Imperial Legion foresters, standing 35-odd feet apart, firing arrows into each other's groins. I like it when the AI goes bonkers. :D

In Morrowind npcs talked about problems in Cyrodil, so Summerset Isle might be the setting for the sequel rather than an expansion.

I've seen quite a few Legion foresters fighting to the death, even in the middle of fighting something else, I've also seen a male npc plow a female npc whilst at lunch.

Playing computer games when there's a summer going on? Madness :)

yeah but summer in Dubai means 38-50 degrees and 60% humidity......we stay indoors in the summer and frolick outside in the winter!

ooops , just went and got this today to play on my nice new ( for me ) pc and i can see my life dissapearing , also got w3orld of warcraft but after watchng that south park this am , i dont dare install it :D

I got to level 23 and just sort of stopped for a bit. It's an easy game to pick up again mind, the interface is so well done.

I got the Knights of the Nine expansion for christmas. It's the bizzle.

Haven't finished the main quest yet, but the new armour set is very spiffy (so far the plot has revolved around acquiring it, piece by piece). It's extremely cool having your own order of knights to boss around, and all in all it's made the world that bit more colourful. It also delves into the background lore a bit more (ancient history, religion...), which I like. Anybody else played it?

A word of warning on that - the expansion is just a compilation of the downloadable content with the new Knights of the Nine campaign (which is quite fun, but isn't really anything massively new - it's just a new quest line with some new bad guys in it). Since you can get all of it for a shade over $23 it seems a bit pointless shelling out £19.99 in the shops. Plus if you do it that way it means you can choose which bits you need (horse armour for $2 is a bit poo for example).

I have downloaded all of the updates (except for the horse armour!) thus far for my 360 - they are normally 2 quid or so a pop...

New full-on expansion in the works- Shivering Isles

Shivering Isles features more than 30 hours of new gameplay and allows you to explore an entirely new plane of Oblivion – the realm of Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness.

The Shivering Isles features a bizarre landscape split between the two sides – Mania and Dementia –filled with vast, twisting dungeons mirroring the roots of the trees they are buried within. You’ll encounter more than a dozen new creatures including hideous insects, Flesh Atronachs, skeletal Shambles, amphibious Grummites. Throughout your adventure, you will discover all new items, ingredients, spells, and more, and have the talented craftsmen of Crucible and Bliss forge new armor and weapons just for you.

Looks pretty sweet, like a Lewis Carroll take on the setting. Will be out 'this Spring'.
